Any sort of change in a person's life is often met with some amount of fear (i.e., Will I succeed?). But that's not a reason to quit now!!!
First, if your career goal is to be a nurse, you need to go into this (or another) nursing program. If you're not dead-set on being a nurse, perhaps there's a different career choice/program for you.
Second, starting any new schooling is always a challenge. You're going to be learning a lot of new things, many of which will lay the foundation for your future career. At the same time, though, isn't it exciting? Think of all of the awesome new things you'll learn and the friendships you'll make! (Trust me....when I was in law school, it was horribly difficult and scary, and just by virtue of being miserable together, I made some lifelong friends....because we shared the ordeal and made it out alive!)
Finally, be confident. You've made it this far. Why give up now? Give it a shot! And you know what? If it sucks and you hate it after trying it out, you DON'T HAVE TO CONTINUE! You can explore other career choices and enter a different schooling program.
Best of luck! Hang in there!

First off breathe. There, feel better? :)Here are some facts:
1. Everyone is scared at first in college. It's all new, it's big!
2. You are qualified or you wouldn't have been accepted
3. Change is always scary but embrace it and it's thrilling!
So, here's how to survive. Remember it's not all the different than HS. You have classes, notes, tests etc. But it's better because you'll be treated like the adult you are. The information will be interesting and if you follow along you will learn so much! Unlike HS, when you are paying for the education, and you're interested in the topic...learning is easy!
My advice? Be careful your first year not to overload your classload. Too many classes can equal disaster. The second piece is resist the urge to party like crazy. Many freshmen lose their whole academic year to the freedom of being at school. Not a good idea when your future depends on your success.
Last thing? Enjoy yourself! This is supposed to be fun!

College > High school! I love college! It's normal to feel a bit scared because your moving up your "life ladder". What I would recommend is think about this:
How many people a year graduate from college? Odds are you are as smart/motivated if not smarter than some. What makes them able to do it that you would not be able to? YOU CAN DO IT TOO! Just stay motivated and just enjoy it.
There are a lot of nurses in my family and they all did it! I know you could to if you set your mind to it. Good luck and put up another post on here saying "I DID IT" so I can give you a virtual high five.

Relax! Take a deep breath, then repeat it ten times. Keep in mind that the college wants you to pass...they will make you work for it, and won't pass you if you don't deserve it, but they will bend over backwards to help you. If you get behind, ask the teacher for assistance. Odds are very good they will. There is often tutoring available, too. Even better, most of the advanced classes are set up so that they build on previous classes...you shouldn't get them unless you are ready for them. You WILL occassionally get the teacher that is very hard, or uncaring, or incompetant...just do your best. And if you fail, you get to try again.
Just keep up your side, eh? Sleep well, eat right, avoid the parties and booze.

It is perfectly normal to be scared. It is a big transition, in a new environment and you'll have a lot of work to do.
It will also be the most exciting and rewarding time of your life, to date.
Just remember that EVERYBODY else will be in the same boat and will be feeling the same anxieties. Make some new friends to share the good times and get each other though the tough times. And have your folks send you lots of care packages. Nothing like a batch of home-baked cookies to get you through a rough patch.

I would research more about nursing programs and find out through what the schools you are interested offer and talk to other people who have gone through such programs and our now nurses. If you are too scared - then try something different.
Good Luck!!!

If you worry too much, and don't focus on the positive, you WILL fail. Half of the battle is having faith in yourself, that CAN DO attitude. No one gets anywhere fast with a pessimistic attitude. Good luck to you.

Try extremely hard to pass your classes. If you try your hardest, there are no regrets. I understand nursing can be hard, with all the exams for various things that there are. Just try your hardest.
