I'm amazed the leftist NY Times even printed this.

The reason is simple, this incident has nothing to do with Al Qaeda. Otherwise this would have become Beaking news for a week.

It must have slipped me too, since I have like 10 major newspaper headlines coming into my yahoo. I didn't see it either. Any favorable-black-eye-against-Muslims-radicals would have a backlash against the media. Even if it meant the left and the democrats saying, maybe just maybe Bush is right.

I'm not Saying BUSH is the best prez, BUT under his watch there has been only 2 terrorist acts against the US. 9/11 and the attack on the US Embassy in Greece. Unlike Clinton who allowed 8 or 9 attacks by al-quaida go unanswered. (unless you count the bombing of the empty-aspirin-factory-to-help-get-the- Lewinsky-scandal-off-his-back). Operation Restore Hope was a UN plan not a Clinton Idea
(Black Hawk Down)

The real issue here is a hijacking got thwarted, and kudos to the pilot and passengers.

Nothing bad to report that the USA so why would this hit the newspaper. Idiot do't care about the fact there is a war going in.

In America this event would have resulted in the gunman and the passangers all having lawers suing for injuries and emotional distress from slamming on the breaks.

It has been popular, since Reagen ran for President in the late 70's, to dismiss important american newspapers as leftist. Sadly, there are very few papers with a reporting staff that can cover news internationally and here at home. Most papers simply pick up reuters or ap wire reports. The new york times has great coverage of international news. For the most part, I genuinely doubt most limbaugh inspired people have much read one of our nations better papers. It is easier to bash them.

Let's see, the pilot was muslim, the passengers that beat the hijacker up were also muslim, er, what is your point?

It really only goes to prove that terrorists are hated and feared as much by muslims as by the rest of us. Considering most of the people the terrorists are blowing up these days are muslims, I can see why.

It was even in the AOL news which is as far left as the N.Y. Slimes. It was a Moroccan and he was wanting to go to France. No surprise there. As far as the Slimes being a far left rag, it is as clear as day and well known to be on the far left. They have admitted as much. There are times when I feel that they are trying to be more like Al Jezeera and sympathize with the terrorists. They prefer the name militant, or freedom fighter. They don't like the word terrorist.
Ok, those of you on the far left, go ahead and show your stupidity and give me a thumbs down now. lol

GREAT!!! It will be a long time before any whacko can fly airplanes into tall buildings....

And "leftist", "muslims" and your insinuations have no place in this story.

Another successfully aborted hijacking attempt? That's not news, that's another reason to continue the war on terror. We wouldn't want the American people to know that there are still terrorists out there.

Because, whilst it is an amusing little story, the hijacker was not a terrorist per se, he wanted to get to France to declare polical asylum. I suspect it is in a lot of papers, the story just isn't interesting or newsworthy enough for it to 'make headlines'.
