I understand that some e-mail programs allow the user to add another layer of encryption to e-mails being sent. Can I do this on yahoo?

You can always make your own encryption process, but is adds a step to viewing. Basically it's the equivalent of talking in code.

If you're looking to prevent others from reading your content, sometimes something as simple as translating the document into a different language than having the end client translate it back works.
