Wait until she falls asleep & run a Q-tip under warm water. Then, gently twist it in the baby's nostril. Then get a dry one & do the same thing to get all the gunk out. Be careful, don't go up her nose! If the outside of her nose gets sore from wiping, etc... try rubbing a little Vaseline on before bed or nap time. Good Luck!

Is this your first child? I hate to say it, but you're just gonna have to do it anyway. There is no other way that I know of. I don't know of any baby who likes getting their nose wiped or sucked either. I put a couple drops of saline nose drops in each nostril before sucking with the bulb. It loosens up the mucus and makes it easier to remove. Good Luck!

Give her a warm bath and keep the door closed so the heat becomes as a humidifier. This will soften the mucus inside her nose and will make it easy for you to clean. It may just come out on its own.

You can also get nasal drops, which also soften the mucus inside her nose.

Although she hates the bulb, you may have to use it occasionally.

During her bath gently splash some water into her nose to help the mucus drip out on its own. Keep her room well humidified to loosen the congestion or try sitting wiht her in a steamed-up bathroom for 5 or 10 minutes. If you're nursing, try squeezing a few drops of breast milk into her nose to lossen congestion; some experts say that the milk's anti-microbial properties can help.

NO, no, no. Q-tip is a BAD idea. It can push in whatever it is back in her nose and even damage her nasal passage (not to mention, stretch out her cute little nose). Sometimes it helps to leave it in the nose cuz it eventually falls out especially when they rub their nose. If it's snot, stay with the bulb even if she hates it. Squeeze it, put it up to her nose (try to point it where the bogeys are) and while you release (un-sqeeze) the bulb, pull it out when you've released it half-way (release it quickly because if you let it go too slow, it wont suck anything out). If you feel like its irritating her too much, try again later. If she's congested, get a good cold medicine (infant's of course). My son is almost 2 and I still use the bulbs (different sizes help with different things). He learned to sit still and just let me use the bulb now because I made him put up with it. haha. He even sometimes tries to do it himself now! (but that's a no-no too haha) Occasionally, if I take too long, he gets irritated but overall, the bulb is VERY helpful getting out the stuff that's in his nose. Saline drops help, too, to soften whatever is in her nose. Then use the bulb, and wipe her nose with a soft cloth/washcloth. If she cries, it's ok. They get over it. We can't ALWAYS give into their crying right?

Yes, TRY to make it into a game. I am serious. My daughter LOVES that bulb. We hold it out, and she just places her nose over the bulb. She carries the bulb over to us when she has a stuffy nose.

My daughter hates kleenex too!

If you haven't already, you really need to buy "Little Noses" saline nasal drops. Spray inside her nostrils. At least this will make her mucus thinner, and it will drain out more easily.

Hun I would just stick with the bulb. My daughter fights everything I do. Diaper changes, clothing changes, cleaning her face. That's just how babies are, the bulb in my opinion is the best way to clean out there nose, and using nasal drops right before makes it easier.

I would NOT use a Q-Tip.
One wrong move or a jolt from her fighting could cause SERIOUS damage.

Saline alone will work wonders.
You just have to be tought

Baby vics also really helped my son

Turn the shower on for 10 mins in a closed bathroom then walk in ans sit with her for a few minutes.
That should help clear her out

PLEASE DONT USE A Q-TIP!!!!!!!

Thats sooo scary

we use water or a wet cloth for the nose, it irritates it less..and if it does bother him, we put some vasoline on his nose. Try it on your daughter, it will be less traumatizing too. Also practice letting her blow her nose on her own, do it with her...(remember to clean out your nose before blowing with her lols-dont want anything flying out) when cleaning her nose with water, do NOT put water directly into her nose SHE WILL GET UPSET...slightly sprinkle some water towards her nose...then grab her nose like you have an invisible tissue on her, and wipe...*my descriptions arent good but you get my drift* hope that helps =D

I agree with using a Q-Tip and being super careful, but I also found it helps to wet the Q-Tip.

But I also found that just taking a tissue and gently pinching downward and wiping side to side was sometimes all it took to get the nose clear.
