cause im reformating and i thought i have come across some before but didn't know if a program would transfer all the songs i have on it now bought or not and tv shows back onto the laptop?

Well, I remember reading in the manual that you could use your iPod like a thumb drive to transfer files. What if you didn't open iTunes when you plug in your iPod. Instead, go to my computer and look for your iPod listed there. It may be called "mass storage device" or something. Then, you can copy the files on the iPod and place them on the new computer.
This is only a theory, but seems plausible.

yeah! there's copypod, but you have to pay money after 14 days.
