I say back to school. Get a master in something like accounting and become a CPA, you make alot more money, than with a bachelors. But in addition to going to grad school you should apply for an internship so that you are getting practical experience in addition to your degree.

You don't say what your degree is in, but believe me most employers are much more impressed by someone having proven they can work, rather than just having a degree. Consider expanding you job search parameters, both geographically and in the type of job you are looking for. Take a mail room job or janitorial position in a company that is doing the type of work you really want to do. Once you get you foot in the door, establish yourself as a reliable worker, it will make it a lot easier to get the job you really want. The addition benefit is you might be able to find out about job opening prior to the opening being made public. Many companies first look internally to fill job openings prior to looking outside.

If you really need a masters degree, look to get a job in a company that might pay for it. Also consider studying while holding down at least one full-time job. Avoid going into debt to get your degree, or you really will be behind the 8 ball.

There are too many people with masters and doctor's
degrees out there who cannot find a job. I would stick
with the work force for now. Once you land a good job,
then the type of job will dictate what master's degree
you should pursue as this could lead to a rise in the
ranks......but you need that job first. A master's degree
won't put food on the table nor will it give you any work
experience.

Go to the Army and become an Army officer. They start at well over 50K per year with full benefits and will pay for your Masters degree. The start rank would be lieutenant.

If you have massive loans, start as an enlisted member as an E-4 spc/ corporal and the Army will pay off your loans for you, give you a sign on bonus, give you the job of your choice and pay for any future education wish to attain WHILE serving. After the loans are paid off, you can get out or commission as an officer.

The Army also pays for all your housing utilities food, college, medical, and so much more while giving you something awesome to put on your resume. Especially as a female.

No, statistically you are better off in the workforce. Anything above a bachelors degree when you weigh the cost of student loans and lost income you really do not come out ahead. Suze Orman discusses this a lot on her show and in the book "Young, Fabulous, and Broke". If you are having trouble landing a full time job consider moving to another area, try temp agencies that may be able to place you in temp jobs in your field that could lead to permenant placement or just try to may try to use your degree in a unrelated field.

What did you take up? For some fields, it's better to have a Master's degree, especially those involving research, like sociology, anthropology, etc.

Although in general, having a Master's degree puts you a notch above others.
