i'm only 18 but i agree [parents influences? yes i think so!]
but for a so called democratic government the actual British population gets nothing. most people work in dull 9 to 5 jobs, barely paid enough to put food on the table and they get taxed the majority of what they earn and supposidely for our benefits? so NHS [needless to say MRSA], free education, roads [damaged, road workers...] etc etc. we rarely see our money put to good use if we see a use at all.
oh god i do sound like my parents but i have to say they aren't half right most of the time!!
good on Tony and his troops in Iraq [what have we actually acheived there?]

your not a grumpy old git..you are one of the few that have the balls to speak out, don't undervalue your knowledge and don't be put off by the pseudo inteligensia that seem to crawl out from under their rocks when people like you hit the nail on the head.
Yes we are bothered, however we are not doomed far from it! Since 9/11 and 7/7 our leaders have developed a mania for surveilance and intelligence gathering, if they don't like what we say, they had better build a lot more prisons for us because we won't take their crap anymore as they run around like headless turkeys looking for another section of society to mug with stealth taxes and pc rulings. Thank God for people like you, believe me, we are the majority, this government is going to get a backlash.

As one grumpy old git to another, i wholeheartedly agree with you. I was born in 1941 and as yourself saw the Tories and labour do absolutely nothing for the working classes, just the same old bull***t right up to the present times. I must add it seems to be worse now than ever.

I can't understand why people cannot equate the poor services in this country with the low personal taxation. They cry out for lower taxation and more services yet the countries that have the best ways of life have the highest taxes. We either subscribe to common benefits or we keep our money to spend as we want but we cannot have both.

Not much longer matey. We will all get out and colonise a nice island in the sun and start all over again with self rule. The people would make a better job of running a country. I am with you on this one

If you get a well paid job, and sell your car you like I did you will be fine. Politics is a con to fleece people anyway. I only voted once and never again. You got a choice of two. Its like do you want a can of sainsburys baked beans or a can of Tescos baked beans. YOU have CHOICE you are privileged. You are not like that lot in Russia. Now they have no choice. But is it a choice really?

I am indeed bovvered (as you put it). However, we have to do as our forefathers did for us and build our country back up. We can only do this if we inform our Ministers that enough is enough the workers and people of England want respect put back into their country.

how right you are! Enoch Powell should have been PM and we'd all be in a better country now. he had the right idea but nobody listened to him. he warned them over 40 years ago.
