My Personal opinion is Just buy a swing. I bought both and found the baby bouncer was a waste of money. My baby boy loves his swing. It really settles him and rocks him to sleep. Its also handy when hes a little older as it sits at a good height to feed your baby when introducing solids. My little boy cried all the time in his bouncy chair he didnt like it.Plus the fact I didnt like him at such a low level because of the draft through the door..

I can tell you from experience (two boys) that I have both. My oldest one loved the swing most of the time, but every now and then would go in the bouncer. My youngest likes the swing, but seems to prefer the bouncer. It all depends on the child. I knew some kids who didnt like the swing at all or the bouncer. It depends on the child's temperment! I suggest getting both. I have used both of mine for both of my children. They tend to be a big help when you just need a break!
Good luck, Take care and Enjoy your little one!

Calming the baby and allowing yourself some free time while the baby is being soothed by the swing/bouncer are both great benefits! There are now swing and bouncers in one so you only have to buy one that does both! You can go to baby's r us and walmart, target to get a good selection of swings and bouncers our swing was a godsend we decided to get the 2 in one this time they bounce, vibrate, swing, play music and have toys to entertain the baby1 Good Luck!

We have both and my son loves both....the swing worked better for when he was in the first month, after that he loved the bouncer too, the swing is a must, the bouncer is more of a travel thing...you use it at home, but if you go elsewhere, it's small enough to bring with you, and it'll occupy baby at your destination

I have both and my baby doesn't like the bouncer...It barely moves...The swing is great!! She loves the side to side swing (shes 8 weeks), and I have both types of swings...It plays music and has these cute bright fish that she now notices and LOVES..they spin around..I'd say go for the swing before buying a bouncer...that's just my opinion.

First of all *Kevscutie* is wrong.... bouncers are not for babiies that can sit unsupported (it says that on the box)! I've had two babies and fixing to have my third... we've always has both. Just make sure the bouncy vibrates!!! The swing was good for if she was tired and the bouncy was good for letting her sit up and look around! My best advise woth a bouncy is use the head support out of your carseat with it or otherwise baby's head can fall over and then she's not comfortable.

My oldest child loved both the swing and the bouncer. We used the bouncer more as it was more convenient than the wind up swing I had but I am now expecting my second child and I can garauntee that I will have both again. Also both of my two month old niece loves both the bouncer and swing as well. Hope this helps

I have both, by baby girl didn't like the bouncer at first she prefered the swing. Babies love swings it's very soothing and even helps them fall asleep.
If you want you can wait on the bouncer, my baby loves playing with the toys. It really helps their hand and eye coordination.

I have all 3. The bouncy seat, the cradle swing, and the regular swing. I've used all 3 extensively, except the cradle swing has been put to rest as my son outgrew it. It only goes up to 12 pounds or something.
So honestly i would get all 3, babies love to swing and a bouncy seat is very handy. I can put my son in it while i'm in the kitchen washing dishes and he's happy! I would look at secondhand shops for things, or ask people if you could use some of their stuff. I was given the swings and bouncy seat to me, so we didn't have to pay anything!
Hope this helps!

I have both. The swing is great for fussy babies but does contribute to a flat head (plagiocephaly, which my daughter has). It's use should be limited. The bouncer or exersaucer has been great for us. She was able to use it from about 4 months as she has strong neck and upper body control. She is 6 months now and still bounces away. All four of my children loved it. We also purchased a bumbo, a molded foam seat to assist a baby to sit unassisted. She has been in this since she was 2 months old. www.bumbobabysitter.com
