I get more and more emails. In bad English, from people saying I can get hundreds of thousands of pounds - if not millions.
I am sorely tempted to reply asking for a Grand for expenses before I start: or just telling them to....well, go away.
But I am warned by everyone to just ignore these emails.
If I did reply, what info could they glean - apart from the fact that the e-mail address is 'live'?

"If it's too good to be true then it probably is" would be a suitable phrase for this situation.

Replying instantly shows that you're eMail address is real, is live and is in current use and they'll use this to earn money off you by sending you more crap and basically bombarding your eMail account.

Additionally, if they're experienced enough -- they could get your IP Address and use this against you.

If they get your bank details to send you the money, they'll try to raid your account and steal either all or at least a lot of the money from it.

If they get your address, they may try to use it to commit fraud, i.e: by saying that they live there -- and then you'll have the Police round yours arresting you on suspicion of fraud and you'll get into a whole lot of trouble.

Basically, just ignore the eMails totally and don't bother even thinking about replying to them.

Reply and you will make your email address live to them - they will then sell it on to others and make money out of you and you will get more and more and more! You can aslo reply and leave a gateway open into your computer where it is possible to upload viruses and gather your personal info - very useful to them if you internet bank or buy stuff on credit cards!

Just delete them

There are some sites out there which play with these Nigerian scammers.
Here's 2 for you. Quite funny, but if you look at doing it yourself, then I recommend you open a new email account without your personnal details.
