Puerto rican did not start it as part of United States after the colonial war between Spain and US that is when they become a US territory and Puerto Rican gain US citizenchip.

Puerto Ricans aren't immigrants. They are born US citizens with social security numbers and everything. It is a US territory.

In 1898 it was ceded to the US after the Spanish-American war. Then, in 1918, it became a Commonwealth. Puerto Ricans are American by birth, and have been sine 1898. We are as much American as anyone else. We speak primarily Spanish, but some English too. Being half Puerto Rican, I speak from experience.
