i've got over 2000 songs on my 30gig, and its not even half full. If your going to put alot of video on it, then i would get the 80gig.

I have the 30GB and it's more than enough room. If you're going to have a lot of videos on your ipod, the 80GB is better as videos take up considerably more room. The 30GB is perfect for me - it will last me 4 or 5 years, so I have growing room based on my size now (I got mine in June)

Personally I have a 30 GB Video iPod and at first I wasn't sure if that would be enough memory but I have had my iPod since August and I haven't even filled up a 1/4 of it yet! And I am an avid music fan and have over 100 cds and countless downloads! Also I didn't want to get the more expensive iPod cuz i know they will inevitably come out with a new model sometime soon and if you want to upgrade and buy a newer one it wont hurt your pocket as much.

80 has better battery life, and if you switch songs a lot or watch movies a lot, you'll need every iota of battery life that you can get.
I have the 30. Space goes QUICK, and battery life is garbage. You can just barely watch a whole movie on a full charge, and selecting songs drains it way more than it should.

I have the 30gig U2 edition and only one video on it (the U2 one that came w/ it). Unless you plan to just jam it with movies, don't bother with the giant one. My whole entire album collection fits very comfortably on about 6 or 7 gigs.
