I was very freaked out after watching Grey's Anatomy on Thursday. How can Meredith die?! Her name is in the title! They wouldn't kill her, would they? And if she doesn't die, I'm thinking someone else will. What are you opinions and/or fears? I really want to know.

Will Meredith Grey Die?
She alrady died, 45 minutes no vitall signs, flatlined, talking to dead people.
I was very freaked out after watching Grey's Anatomy on Thursday. How can Meredith die?!
Hypothermia, heart failure, lack of oxygen to the brain.
Her name is in the title! They wouldn't kill her, would they?
They just did and man are you worried they won't bring her back.
And if she doesn't die, I'm thinking someone else will. What are you opinions and/or fears? I really want to know.
Her mother is going to have a heart failure as well. Meredith is not there for a reason. She is the little lost girl whose mother has to find her. The only way to do that is to have her mother die. This will allow Meredith to grow as a character. She will no longer be there only because she is taking care of her mother. If she marries Derek it will no longer be because he makes her happy but because she loves him. If she stays a doctor it will be because she wants to. That is what has been happening ever since her mother recovered for a day. They have been setting up her departure. When Meredith thinks her mother is dying she will try anything to get back to her.

finally a passionate topic! i swear i think about this every day! sorry im not writing with apostrophes or capitals but i just cut my finger and its hard to type. no, i dont believe she will die. i dont believe that izzy would say all that stuff ("i believe she will survive, i believe that she is strong enough...etc") just to later in the show have meredith die. plus that would mean no meredith and ellen pompeo is the best actress OR actor on the show. also you know that the last scene, where meredith wakes up next to denny and the bomb squad guy who are both dead, is just a dream. i mean what kind of show would try to show a scene where someone is living in the afterlife??!! that doesnt make any sense. meredith CANT die...PLEASE NO!!!!!

she can not die. absolutly not=] i love her and mcdreamy together. and i think that something will happen with that Jane Doe lady and maybe when they showed some of the doctors like yang being all confused, maybe it was with her. i think something will happen with her baby. but if Grey dies, i dont know what i will do. I dont think i will be able to watch it anymore=[
but on another show One Tree Hill, a character had a "dream" similar to merediths and he woke up. so i believe that she will realize the dream and just wake up to be with Derick. and i think that it was so sad when he was sitting in the hallway crying because he wasn't allowed in the room. I cried a lot this episode.
on a website i saw that there was like a Top 10 most worthless show characters and Dr. Burke was #5. so i am surprised that nothing happened to him.=]

My honest opinion is that no, Meredith will not die.
The coldness of the water is what will save her.... when the body becomes that intensely cold it slows the functions of the organs to decrease the oxygen demand..... it's happened before that people have been submerged for much longer and survived.
This is a brilliant piece of character development, acting and writing from Shondra........ but meredith will live. =)

I just listened to the podcast on Abc.com, and shonda the shows writer said they might have to rename the show Anatomy, or Heavenly Greys, and that the next few episodes are going to about how Derek copes with whats going to happen, so i think its pretty clear... Meredith is no longer with us :-(

She can't die, the show's named after her. If anyone dies it's going to be her mother Ellis. Even though I think Alex is a worthless character.

well technically she already did die. however the next episode is called "some kind of miracle" so perhaps she comes back, one of those near death experiences. theres a blog page you can go to from the writers of the show and they talk about the episode and about how its their favortite one of alltime. but they dont really give any hints. i agree though that she cannot die, its her show. guess we'll have to wait til thursday to find out.

doesn't look good... ABC has ruined Lost & Desperate Housewives. Do you expect them not to ruin Grey? I don't think she'll die, just a nice cliff hanger. I think you'll see her interact with the dead dudes for a while until the docs save her.
