My sister and I are hard core fans and she told me recently that the show is based on actual events and that it is also a book. But I have not been able to track the book down. Just wondering if anyone else has heard of such a book in existence? SERIOUS REPLIES ONLY!!!

There is a textbook called Gray's Anatomy. All of the med students will have studied from this textbook, but it's not a novel.

Is this a serious question? I'm asking because there is a book called Gray's Anatomy that is a medical dictionary type book with anatomy and the functions of the body in it and the title of the show is Grey's Anatomy with an 'E' not an 'A' in the middle and the main character's last name is Grey with an 'E' not and 'A' and so I think that is where the title comes from. I think it is a parody of the book's title but I have not heard if it is based on true events.

It is not based on a book.
It is a pun/metaphor.
There is a book called Gray's Anatomy which is fille with pictures of body parts, what makes up a body.
This show is about what makes up Meredith. Her anatomy.
But the show is a screen play written each week by writers from their experiences and medical cases they have read up on. That is the whole truth of your question.

NO, the show is not based on a book, however, the title 'grey's anatomy' , is taken from a famous medical reference book called 'Grey's Anatomy', it's not a novel!

I've never heard that there's a book to it. It would be cool, though. But I think I heard that some of the events in it were real. I'm not sure, though. Please let me know if you find that book. I would love to read it. Also, there is a nonfiction book called Gray's Anatomy, but it has nothing to do with the show. They just got the name of the show from the book. Maybe that's what your sister meant.

The book is Grays Anatomy and no I do not believe the show is based on the book. But it is a great show but if they kill off Merideth I am done with it!

I think they are writing the comic book in combination with the show at the same time. I don't think one has come before the other. Check out the website, I go there quite often and I know you can look at the comics on there.
