My CD/DVD Rom in my Sony Vaio notebook died and I am in need of a replacement. The model according to the underside of my laptop says that it is a PCG-6B1L. Looking online, I can't really find much about this model (Im assuming its older?) So looking on Ebay and other places, I am having a hard time finding anything for that specific model. Is anyone familiar with this model, or are there other DVD drives that could be compatible with this model? Thanks.

OK, I couldn't find anything much online for that model either. Find out the model of the drive, and google that. You may find it is easier to find a replacement for than searching under the model number of the computer.

We have a computer shop in our hometown that updates and repairs computers and sells used computers... they are VERY reasonable. It costs more than doing it yourself, but not much at all. You may find a place like that to be a great way to go as well! Places like best buy are so expensive, I would never go to them for repairs.
