The XBOX 360 comes with a one year warranty. You also have the option of extending that warranty by two years if you call XBOX customer support and ask for the extended service plan before the first year is up. Also, you may want to seriously consider getting an extended warranty through the retail store that you are purchasing it from. I know first hand that Best Buy offers a two year product replacement plan for $50. Target and Circuit City offer similar plans as well. Whatever you do, make sure you get some kind of extended warranty. Trust me, you will be glad you did.

Yeah you should just in case because something could always happen and its a good idea to have it. I haven't had any problems with my 360 yet and I've had mine over 8 months now. All the bugs are all worked out now in the 360 so don't worry too much but buy it just in case.

Do you already have a regular xbox? It will play a LOT more games than the 360. Be sure to check out the backwards compatible list at xbox.com to be sure there are enough games you want to play. I got one from ebay and realized too late that it wont play on our system.

Also, if you get the xbox at walmart, you can return it if it has problems. Ask them for how long. Your credit card may even offer FREE protection. Just keep the original box with the original receipt taped to the inside of it!!

Lastly, I love ours. I HIGHLY recommend the game Oblivion The Elder Scrolls. If you like puzzles, combat, amazing amazing terrain to search...ohmygosh. Be SURE to look into this game. :)

I recommend buying the warranty. My hard drive went bad within the first 2 months of getting mine. I was relieved that I opted for the warranty.
