Thanks for your answers. I've wondered about this since I found this site. I know Witchcraft is a religion. Just don't understand.

Dear Tally: Some times the Askers are under the impression that Witchcraft belongs to this section because that's what they have been taught, and you are right, questions about witchcraft should be in the R/S section.

But Witchcraft, is part of the folklore of many cultures of people present in Yahoo Answers. After all, not only us (Americans and Europeans) are asking and answering questions here.

Remember that not all witches are religious, but certainly there are many of us Wiccans around here helping others with their questions.

Have a beautiful day.

There are many religions that are now mythical, like Greek, Roman, Egyptian, Aztec. They become mythology when there aren't many followers. Many people think, or want to think, that witchcraft is a dead religion hence they think it's mythology.

Witchcraft has been renamed. the idea of witches as we have seen growing up is the Christian demonization of paganism to force their beliefs on society.

If you are seeking information on what witchcraft is about. Try looking up. Wiccan and studying paganism.

It's not going to be what you expected at all, but you may learn more than you expected as well.

I think people post in the Mythology section because they don't realise it is an ancient religion - they believe it's made up, or literally mythological.

Gee, a group of us petitioned MSN chat on that very subject, as we were listed under "other" in religion and shortly after that, Msn went to "paying MSN subscribers only" and now MSN no longer has chat....go figure...

Perhapes one day when we FINALLY have a Pagan President we might get the rights we deserve!!!!!
