TV just isn't what it used to be. I wish we could all go back to the '60s and see the classics again. Back then it was innocent and funny. And they didn't cuss in every sentence. Nowadays, even Tv Land doesn't show any good shows. They've taken of The Dick Van Dyke Show, The Addams Family, and many more great shows. They just play "Tv Land Originals". I don't think tv is anywhere near as good as it once was. Now, I usually watch some old tv shows on Youtube.

I remember as a child someone calling it a vast wasteland I wonder if that man was alive today what he'd think because compared to today's tv, that in the 50s and 60s was positively enlightening.
I'm a news junkie so I watch alot of news progarms, public affairs programs and talk shows.
Love little mosque on the prarie, royal canadian air farce, the mercer report for humour on the cbc and for investigative reporting the 5th estate on the cbc and w5 on ctv.
Adore House, Oprah , the View, Dr. Phil , Medium, not terribly impressed with the most current tv season in the evenings.
When I am not watching tv or on the internet trying to open my YAHOO mail account, I read, or listen to music and of course do housework.

TV is one of the greatest inventions ever. Like anything else it will reflect your personality.
You can sit and watch junk or you can learn. I am addicted to the history channel, the science channels, news, etc. I watch some fluff shows but really would rather be learning.
Watching something great on TV that makes you spring to the library to learn more cannot be construed as a waste of time. And pure entertainment is not a waste of time in moderation either.

It's funny I constantly have my TV on, but I never watch anything but reality TV shows so whenever anything else is on I leave my TV on but I don't watch the show. I guess I just like being able to hear something other than the tapping of my keyboard while I answer questions on here :P

I'd rather read a book.
There's only 3 shows I watch---Heroes, House & Survivor.
The rest of the time my TV is OFF.

For me it's a getaway, it's contact, it's amusement, it's news.
But I have learned that what they say about kids watching too much? That it can cause problems with their attention span..totally true. Their brains seem to blank out, and then it's really difficult when they are older, to focus on books, non-animated tasks. A real problem in school.
