I think he exercised his right of free speech. So what if he doesn't like gays? It's his right. Manypeople don't like gays and they don't like Jews and they don'[t like Blacks and Asians and Middle Eastermers. The media hopped on this one because they have so many prograns on television that feature gay people. Look. Either you like them or you don't. But either way, it is your right. To tell the truth I'm a female and while in college I was a guest in the home of a female friend and her family. I had no idea this girl was a lesbian. If I had I would ever ever have spent the night there. She lived in this huge mansion-like home. Her parents were very nice.
But.
I found out about two hours after I had fallen asleep in an extra bedroom that this 'friend' wanted to "teach" me the ways of as she put it 'female on female' lovemaking. Let's just say I got the hell out of there and never looked back. Before then, what I remembered most was that she was always very friendly and was always finding some excuse to touch me in some way. But I thought nothing of it because it wasn't sexual. Then I remember her staring at me when a bunch of us were getting dressed to go out a few times. Since then, I became very turned off by this girl, and just statyed away from her. I would have been far more comfortable if I had known she was a lesbian. But since that incident, I just prefer not to be around them.
I can understand Hardaway. Maybe the guy saw him in the dressing room without any clothes on. Maybe the guy got turned on by Hardaway and Hardaway didn't know it. They're all naked around each other. They all have the same eqipment. I can understand how he feels. I really can.
Anyway, the best thing, the VERY BEST THING ANY homosexual/gay/lesbian can do for EVERYONE is to just COME OUT. That's it. Just COME OUT. But don't be sneaky about it. Such behavior - once we find out - just makes us distrust people, sometimes unfairly.

Tim Hardaway has every right to express what he wants. His statement in no way harmed anyone.
He doesn't like gay people...so what. Who gives a rats ****?
He dosen't want to be around gay people....who gives a damn?
He has a right to free speech just like anyone else has a right to object to what he said.
He doesn't want to have gay players in the locker room looking at his genitalia? So what? Do you?
At least Tim Hardaway had the stupidity and or the guts to come out and share his opinion.
This is America. This is how you know that you are free. We test our freedom by allowing those to speak even if they are saying things with which we 100% disagree.
Whether or not homosexuality is acquired or innate is not the significant point here.
The point here is that Tim Hardaway is using his right of free speech. Tim Hardaway should also be prepared to suffer the consequences of practicing his right of free speech.
I see all the media attention to this insignificant story for the purpose of one reason, and one reason only....TO KEEP YOUR MINDS OFF THE UNJUST WAR IN IRAQ AND THE PLANNED INVASION OF IRAN BY A CORRUPT BUSH ADMINISTRATION OF NEOCONSERVATIVE WARMONGERS AND WAR PROFITEERS, Not for the benefit of the USA, but to the detriment of the USA, taxpayers and our troops!!

He has a right to think that and I think tons of athletes think the same thing but you can't be that stupid to say something like that on a radio station.I feel bad for John Ameachi cuz he has to deal with all the crap that Tim Hardaway brought on him. Comish. Stern did the right actions against Hardaway

Wow this is only about the 500th time this has been asked. I think that it was his opinion to say, but he should have been a little less frank about it. He could have said something like I am uncomftorable around gay people.

he exercised his right to his opinion, its unfortunate however that he didn't think of what kind of money and publicity it was going to cost him to say that...and it showed in his thru the gate interview at his home after getting booted away from the all star activities...
