Right click on the start bar, go to properties and select the icons you want to have on the taskbar.

Try This...
1> On Start Menu choose "Run"
2> Type "msconfig"
3> Click on the "Startup" Tab
4> From there Uncheck all the items that you don't want to appear on your tray during startup
5> Restart your system

simple
just type
msconfig
on run prompt
then a wizzard appear , go to the services and uncheck the services relating to the icons you don't want then automatically it will never appear again
if you want to delete icon from quick launch tool bar you have to right click and delete

remove from there
