I believe that most people like to read the papers, but am personally horrified by the amount of power the press has. Every negativity is documented and only serves to breed the same in the general population. Press has a lot to answer for in every nation - what about serving a majority of positive news ? Goodness knows the world needs it !!!!!

Yes, I certainly do. I like to keep up to date with international current affairs so I read the papers and watch the TV news a lot too. Actually I am a journalist so I guess it comes with my profession.

Yes I like to read the papers. Only because I don't watch the news much. And I like the juicy gossip.

Yes, they're the best news source out there (at least the good ones: New York Times, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal). The TV news is pure entertainment and shock value, magazines come out too infrequently, and the radio's only good if you're driving. So, newspapers are the best available to stay informed.

only if the front page is just about celebrity fluff and nonsense. If there are stories about murders rapes etc, or anything awful to do with children I stay well clear, and don't watch the news either, it just churns me up for weeks if I read about something horrible like that.

No. They are full of over exaggerated an inaccurate articles designed to get a response.

I prefer logic, common sense, and the Garfield cartoons.
