well first of all get 2, they will have more fun, and they can play together, and sleep together.
pros and cons:
pros- playful, entertaining, funny, love to be handled, and love people, affectionate, cute, and sociable/friendly, can be litterbox trained, which makes it a little easier to clean up after them.
cons- can be expensive with the cage included, possibly a 10 yr. commitment(most likely though less), they can be prone to cancers, must change their litterbox daily( that's the only way they stink is if you didn't do that), and they can get them selves into places you'd never look for them :0, lol
i used to have 2 ferrets, and i loved them!! our male lived to be 2 and a half yrs. old, but died from jaw cancer. our female is still living and currently about 3 yrs. old. i love ferrets and they make wonderful pets. just make sure that you can afford a vet and have a vet that treats them, before getting them. and UNLIKE people who say they are terrible pets, and they stink or something, i've actually experienced them, and they are better then you'd think :)
good luck, and i hope i helped!!
p.s.- they don't have to get rabies shots every year. ours didn't, but ours were marshall farm ferrets, so maybe that's why. but they really don't have to get shots every year.

Having one ferret can be ok, as long as you have the time and attention to spend with it. It is true that there is less mess with one. But if you get a ferret a companion, I believe they are much happier this way, and they have company if you don't have the right ammount of time to spend with them. Two ferrets aren't much worse than one. But the more ferrets, the more highjinx they can get into together! Good luck!

Ferrets are fun, but they are so nosy they can easily get themselves into dangerous situations, so you have to "ferret proof" the house to make sure he will not crawl into AC vents, open widows, inside the couch, etc. Also ferrets have a musky smell some people do not like. They will need rabies and distemper shots every year just like a dog, and are capable of catching human flu, so you have to be careful around them when you get sick.

Censorship of the Internet is a First Amendment issue, whether the content is pornography, political, religious or extreme views, all are protected forms of speech. Restriction is a separate issue than censorship and is practiced already on some forms of content either by state or federal laws (age restrictions, child pornography, etc.) or the ISP's themselves (such as what types of groups they will host.) The question of pros or cons relating to pornography will only get you personal opinions based on each individuals own morals or ethics. The Supreme Court recognized this problem when asked to make a ruling on the subject of pornography. Their ruling: this is a "community standards" issue, not something that should be enforced by one groups ethics over another. Very much in keeping with the Constitution's "states rights" nature.

I had ferrets when I was a kid. 2 of them. They are social and seem to do well with a companion. They smell awful but are really fun pets.

I used to have ferrets...They make great pets---IF you get them as babies...You need to handle them a lot and get them used to you.But once they trust you they are way cool....
