i was going to jump a neighbors car last week and tried to open my hood and it wont open. the lever seems to not have any resistance when i pull it. is it because i live in Minnesota and its extrememly cold and frozen? do i wait to let it thaw in the spring or take it into the car place or can i fix it myself?

If there is no resistance it will be the cable that has snapped, you will need to order a new one, some are quite easy to do and others can be very awkward i'd recommend get a mechanic to do it.
