i was just listening back to some of the auditions by taylor and kat, i didn't think they were that impressive, come to think of it. do you think they deserved to be finalists? i know kat had the looks and taylor was entertaining, but in terms of voice, do you guys think they deserved it?

I agree with you. Last season had so many truly talented individuals voted off so early. Kat was beautiful and she has a great voice but Mandessa was far more vocally talented. Taylor is entertaining but he had already produced a cd of his own before the AI tryouts--why would he even be eligible?
At any rate, we must remember that it was American Idol FANS who ultimately voted those other more talented contestants off, not the judges. And that is what makes me angry---America doesn't seem to know talent any more and whats worse, they would rather make someone famous on looks alone or quirkiness than on true talent. I mean just take a look at some of the most famous "entertainers" and "singers" out there today.....need I say more.
Oh but I will.....William Hung became famous and got a record deal out of his AI audition. Yeah, let that register......
And there are several wildly popular female singers today who do nothing but whine in a bra and that's what we call entertainment?
Ok so, that's it for now...cause you don't want me to get started on those whiners......LOL!

I did not think that either of them had the voice to be the next American Idol. American Idol it seems had lost all sense for talent, and had began to go by looks, and humor. Yes Kat was beautiful, and taylor was entertaining as far as his stage presence goes. But the bottom line is the people are there for singing. I think that this next group will be very good, there is a lot of talent, however I think some made it through on looks alone. But we shall see what happens.

I totally agree with you. There were some people that I thought were pretty good but they didnt even make it to Hollywood week. I don't think Taylor or Kats voices were that great.

I don't think that anyone (be it American Idol or another celebrity figure) deserves it over another person. There are a lot of hard working people with talent that will never reach that level of public acclaim that also deserve it. In the case of American Idol, the people who are motivated enough to vote with their phone calls and text messages found Taylor and Katherine to have the most complete package in terms of looks, charisma, and talent. I don't think anyone who makes it top 12 necessarily deserve it, since there is so much subjectivity in determining who the best singer.

I liked taylor a ton because he didn't fit the mold...to me kat is just one more broadway wanna be who is way too full of herself, in her initial idol interview she said she hadn't had much formal training...not true..for the girls I liked Paris and mandesa...even melissa better than kat...I would have liked to have seen elliot in the top two, if not the winner...talk about beating the odds...he sure has...he is deaf and a diabetic...in my opinion, I think Elliot was the best...

I liked Taylor, but not Kat. I think she was there for her looks more than her talent. Honestly I think chris should have won the competition

i really liked kat, but i don't think that taylor should've won, he has a funny attitude but his voice isn't the greatest, i thought that kat did really well, and deserved to win, or mandeisha, but she was voted out earlier, but, i think that america wasn't really paying attention when they made the vote, so idk

Katherine didn't!!! Taylor was good but I don't think he should have won. I just never liked Katherine at all!! But there's no use in complaining now. It's all over. But Chris Daughtry should have won!!!!

i think kat should have won.....taylor looks like hes taking a dump when he dances....lol....i voted for kat.
