Here are the steps you need to take:

1. Find a university with a good Software Engineering program in Canada. You can do this by typing on yahoo or google "university canada software engineering" or by talking to friends and professors who can recommend you a few universities. Some of the most popular are University of Toronto, University of British Columbia, University of Alberta, McGill University.

2. If you are applying for an undergraduate degree (Bachelor's) then check out the undergraduate admissions section of their website. If applying for a graduate degree (Master's, PhD) then check out the graduate admissions section.

3. Read about the requirements. Usually these include TOEFL scores, GRE scores (for graduate admissions), letters of recommendation, essays, and financial statements or a scholarship/fellowship application.

4. Make sure you gather all the requirements for international student admissions, and send your complete application with the application fee (if this is required)

5. Wait for the acceptance letter and visa documentation

6. Apply for your visa, and contact the university housing department for help finding a room or apartment on campus or off campus.

7. Buy your tickets and get ready for your new journey in Canada.

Good Luck!

The best way in to Canadian university information is through www.aucc.ca You should then contact the specific universities which interest you. Toronto and Waterloo have very strong computer science programmes

You can get information you need as an international student from the University of Toronto's International Student Guide http://www.utoronto.ca/internationalstudent/brochure.html

McGill is solid. yet Canadian citizens have priority (esp montrealers.) you save on with until eventually now march. And Concordia isn't a robust college- its the place all the McGill wannabes bypass.
