im with u all the way w/ the harry potter books!
i was so dissapointed when i turned 12 and still no letter.....lol
i love fantasy and i like:
the farseer and tawny man series by robin hobb cuz i couldnt stop reading them they were sooo good...i heard her other, related series-the liveship one- is good 2
cornelia funke's books cuz the whole thing about stories coming to life is so cool...
eragon's story is awsome but the authors not very good @ writing...
and my favorite, after harry potter, is robert jordan's wheel of time series....READ IT its soo good....its kinda long...but the story is awsum and because its so long you rly get to know all the characters and settings and can rly get into the book....

Harry Potter, Eragon and Eldest, Inkheart, The Thief Lord, Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit - I love the fantasy and imagination! They're great to read when you just want to leave this world.
The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants - I don't know why they appeal to me, they just do.
Uglies, Pretties, and Specials - it has everything; romance, humor, it's futuristic, and it makes you think what our society will really be like in thousands of years

Umm...
Harry Potter because of the magic
Sabriel by Garth Nix because of the magic
Alanna:The first Adventure because of the braveness of the people
Eragon because of the DRAGONS!
Heir Apparent because of the humour
Sword of the Rightful King because of its ties in with king Arthor and the twist at the end. about what if someone besides Arthur took the sword from the stone.
READ THESE BOOKS!
=D

I know it's sort of silly and childish, but one of the best story ideas I came across in published literature was "Inkheart" by Cornelia Funke. It's definitely a writing-nerd story, or a reading-nerd story, but it's amazingly crafted. Wonderful.

Noughts and Crosses cos it makes you think about how racism can divide two people who love each other.
