I am a 34 year old mother of one 16yrs daughter a got pregnant in September of 06 had a miscarrage in November, i did a dnc on the 2nd Dec. and had to repeat the dnc 2 weeks later because ultrasound showed that there were products left in side of me. My question is how save is the dnc and how soon can i get pregnant or is it safe for me to get pregnant again?

I had the same issue and we concieved 2 months later.......all good, but ask your Dr to be sure!

Doctors say leave it at least 3 - 6 months before getting pregnant again.
A DNC is very safe as it removes any pieces of the uterus left - this is necessary to prevent any infection at a later date.

I would get a second opinion from a doctor. It's a little scary that they didn't get it all during your first dnc. I had a miscarriage and was told to wait a few months. I waited about 4 months and then had my daughter. My sister also had one and didn't wait and ended up with another miscarriage. She had two miscarriages in three months. Good Luck!

a d & c is completely safe.. all they are doing is opening up your cervix and inserting a tubular suction to clean out the inside of the uterus.. to remove pregnancy tissue. if it is not coming out with the suction.. they put in an instrument to scrape out the tissue.. then suction again.. it is completely safe.. and yes you can get pregnant too.. all the d&c is doing is returning your organ to where it was before the lossed pregnancy..
i have had to have the same procedure a couple times with missed pregnancies.
