McCain understands what most politicians don't want to believe. We are not children, get the message out early and let people know where you stand.

The Democrats haven't seen enough public opinion polls yet to determine what their stance should be, and as public opinion changes over time, they won't really know until March 2008. Only Hillary among the Dems is taking some stances and that is because she learned from the Master and if a stance she has taken turns out to be unpopular around election time:

What she gonna do
What she gonna Say
She do the Slick Willie Waffle
And she come out OK
The Slick Willie Waffle
It's bound to save the day
She do the Slick Willie Waffle
And she come out OK

No.

In June 2005 - that's almost 2 years ago - the Libertarian party published a proposed exit strategy for Iraq. Many of whose ideas parallel those in the Iraq Study Group document.

The bipartisan Iraq Study Group, whose recommendations are supported by a majority of Democrats, published its report in December of 2006. Its plan for success is not a purely military one - because it has been proven that a predominantly military solution in Iraq such as proposed by McCain will fail.

Suggesting that McCain supports the ISG is disingenuous if not an outright lie. McCain opposes diplomacy with Syria and Iran and he opposes a troop build-down. McCain opposes aggressive diplomacy with Israel for Palestinian peace consistent with U.N. resolutions. And here's his press release where he slammed it.

And this will be the beginning of the end for the McCain campaign. By allowing the public, and yes every other candidate, to view his ideas this early, it will give them time to criticize his ideas, but also use some of his ideas as their own with a few minor adjustments. Most candidates are not showing their policies because right now it is not about policies. Right now, it is about each party choosing who they would like to represent their party in the upcoming elections. After the primaries, then the election becomes more about policies.

So far, yes he is. I don't agree with him on everything but I will give him that. He tells you where he stands and he means it. I wish more of them would do that. Heck, I wish ANY of them would.
