Damn this brings back memories. Used to do this when I was kid. We used large farm tractor inner tubes as the hull. Blow the tube up fully and take a diameter measurement of the inside about a 1/4 of the way toward the center. Cut two plywood discs to this diameter. Build a frame work between the discs for support and battery area. Now we used small, about 5hp gas trolling motors, but today electrics are probably better and safer too. As the electric troller will rotate 360 degrees for steering make its mount off center in the plywood discs. Using sealed batteries mounted between the discs for power and a safety cage fully around the prop. Use nylon webbing looped around tube in about 6 or 8 places to secure the discs to the tube. You will want the rider to be as centrally seated as is possible for a stable bump resistant ride. Even still plan on getting wet and having a ball, I sure did. Any other questions about the build drop me note. Good Luck and Have Fun.

If you are planning to start on your woodworking project, this isn't something you should use, it's something that you would be insane not to. Go here https://tr.im/s4dUV
Truth is, I've been a carpenter for almost 36 years, and I haven't found anything like this for less than 10's of thousands of dollars.
