Yes, you are correct. She lost her photo boyfriend in the tsunami and herself suffered a broken pelvis and hung on to a tree to survive and it seems to have warped her.
Since that time she seems to have become a media whore, trying to be on every talk show and tabloid possible and dating the likes of Bruce Willis and James Blunt and will likely date whatever "hot hunk" of the moment to stay in the limelight, which is sad.
