A gifted, talented composer, Barry DeVorzon has composed music for other films, including "The Exorcist 3". In 1971, he was nominated for a "Best Original Song" Oscar for co-writing the song from the film of the same name, "God Bless the Beasts and Children". (His co-writer was Perry Botkin, Jr.) The song was recorded by the brother-sister recording duo The Carpenters.
