I would think so. Aren't a lot of Indians marry to white people.

It doesn't matter whether it's Indian culture or not. Indian culture as an unique ability of blending other cultures in. So if 'Valentines day' comes in - WELCOME.
But the way we celebrate it is something that matters. Not only in India but all around the world. All around the world there's a day dedicated to mothers, a day dedication to fathers and a day dedicated to friends. In India we also have a day dedicatied to relationship between brothers and sisters. Valentines day is a day dedicatied to your love.
We have changed the essence of the valentines day. It's more of a self centered celebration. HOW MANY PEOPLE IN THIS WORLD HAVE DEDICATED HIS/HER VALENTINES DAY TO THE SAME PERSON EVERY YEAR SINCE HE/SHE STARTED CELEBRATING IT? The answer would be shocking. One day in the year, we commit ourselves to someone, and a few years down the line we commit ourselves to someone else. Where is the essence of love?
No we cannot explain this by saying that a person caonnot stick the the same person throughout the life, or what if things between them go wrong. Else why do people fall in love when they don't know whether they are compatible or not and when they have no concrete plans about their future. And if without considering these facts you jump into it, why don't you stick on to it. When people fall in love they claim they can do anything for their love. but after the break off they would respond things didn't work out well for them. Was it love or experiment? If it was an experiment, they are not entitiled to participate in the celebration...
The fact is that we don't celebrate the day for our love but for ourselves. We plan out a romantic time to enjoy. Girls expect gifts, boys expect something else. The day when most of the couples forget their limits. When I say limits, I don't mean that they have sex or something like that. I am talking about the public display of their affection which is rightly so, not acceptable in our Indian culture.

Yes it is Because
Indian culture as an unique ability of blending other cultures in. Valentines day is a day dedicatied to your love. We Indian believe in love and so we spread love and affection to others on this special day to know the whole world that Loving others is so sweet than harming others and creating havoc. Spreading love also bring happiness to our mind and also to others. So if u can spread love and affection for one day then why not throughout our life and then there will be no terror and tension.
If u love ur self then why not love others

To celebrate valentines day is not Indian culture. It is coined by commercials to boost their sales. Valentine is a saint who sacrificed his life for the sake of two lovers. This has happened in foreign land.

Oh ya. I think it is an Indian culture.... But to my knowledge there must be some spelling mistake.... It should have been "Wallet"ines Day, coz we guys spend money like water from our wallet on that very particular day for our ladies. Hence call it Walletines Day, rather than Valentines Day....

Indian Culture, I dunno. But its the commemoration of St Valentine, Feb 14, 270 AD. We remember him in a special way because in his last letter addressed to Julia he signed it "from your Valentinus",(Latin). He was then executed for his faith by the the Roman Government. Claudius had ordered the Romans to worship 12 deities and Valentinus remained a devout Christian.\
