You HAVE to be running the earlier version of this software for it to be expiring---because it is no longer being supported simply because of the fact that AVG 7.5 is NOW the standard !!
Go to this link http://www.download.com/ and type in the search box there AVG and the site will deliver you to your new anti-virus program for download !!

AVG 7.5.4 is free. Download it from Download.com. Probably they'll also offer you some add-ons as part of their sponsorship. And the best part is that you don't have to have a membership on the site to download most of the stuff.

Go to AVG website and download the latest free versions again. Uninstall your current version and reinstall the new version, Run your updates and voila.

You can try out Avast! Home Edition. Very good antivirus and light on the system. Updates are available almost instantaneously when you connect to the net and doesn't hog your bandwidth.
