search all files on the computer including system files and hidden files. sort by date. look for the date when you suspect someone was on.

There are many ways to erase the history, but typically ther eis something residual that they forget to wipe out.

If they have a "window washer" type program, that may obscure the history so that forensic analysis of the hard drive would be necessary. Also, if this is a criminal investigation, or you pay the ISP and the account is in your name, they may maintain firewall logs with the IP addresses of all sites visited by your PC. These are tyically huge and are overwritten frequently, so time is of the essense if you want to go that route.

You could also install system level shadowing software that stores all screen shots in a database. I have that installed on about 70 servers in my company, and I can watch replays of all server console activity from weeks and months ago.

Similar software probably exists for the Home PC as well.

All depends upon how much you want to spend in time and money to spy on whomever else uses your computer.... Also there are proxy products like Surf Control that monitor such activity. I believe Net Nanny may do the same thing.
