Not just christians and muslims. if there were no religion people would still be trying to force their culture on everyone else. People are just xenophobic control freaks for the most part.

No I don't believe every human is born in a particular cult or religion due to their karmas. That is like saying one religion is better or worse than the other.

I have opened my doors to people trying to enlighten me on Christianity. But its stopped. They are proud of thier religion, and they like to welcome others into it, whats wrong in that?

The muslims I know have never tried to force their faith one me. They are decent people. However, sure, there are bad people out there as there are bad people in any religion. Media tends to portray the Muslims in a bad way.

I don’t believe that every human is born in a particular cult or religion due to his or her Karmas. That is YOUR belief, please do not IMPOSE you belief on to me (lol - I'm joking). See, it's very easy to impose, but its never done with that intention in mind. When you are proud of your religion, you might have that tendency to want to share it, which is okay.

Anyway, I really don’t believe in being born into a particular religion because of our past Karmas. Who am I to say ‘my religion is better than yours’? – because that’s what it kind of implies.

You were not born into a religion; you were born into a culture. When you are born, you are born with a clean slate. Your culture imposes (or educates) religion onto you. So you learn to believe that your religion is the only true religion.

I try to follow Jainism, but not as a religion as a philosophy to live by. Religion to me is one of the main causes of corruption.

People are educated on a religion, and sometimes people don't question, they just follow. This is not always good, because it closes the mind to anything else. If you don't educate yourself on other religions and then criticise them, it shows the irrational side of your personality.

Plus when you already follow a religion, it's likely you won't notice it being imposed onto you. You don't know when hindusim is imposed on other people just because it isn't you who does it, don't mean it don't happen.

I don't want to impose. It's your choice.

Well I should say a very good selection of the question. I think the origins of the 2 religions are very less i.e. most of religions contain converted people form other cast. Secondly many of the religions have few things & duties to follow if we want to take that religion but Christian & Muslim religions have very less things to follow.
Also I think most of these 2 religions have bold, hot looking females as compared to any other religions, so when a boy falls in love he is ready to convert himself. Also most of English Medium schools in India are of Christians so to get quick admissions & support people get converted. Last but not the least these 2 religions want to have major people of their casts so they give trouble to people also give some money & ask people to get converted in their religions, which is a major sin or I can say crime. The government should take serious actions on this.

Some reasons that i can provide are as follows:
* People in general, have a tendency of spreading their religion and christianity(the religion having exceptionally a majority of people)is no exception. It is easy to drag a person into this religion as the individual will be granted pardon easily(fear of gods prevailed in everyone's mind). In christianity the catholics are superior, while the ones who joins later will not be a catholic, the others will enjoy the superiority over the one who joins later...
* A man can have any number of wives in Islam(the second largest majority)...

ethnocentrism is a seed watered by ignorance and grown in a garden of fear and contempt for what others have to offer the world. ALL CULTURES have the habit of brainwashing or conditioning people into accepting the values and normality's of its belief system. Its something we are all guilty of and very few people even notice. for instance you claim people are born into religions based on their 'karma's', while in reality people are born into religions based on their parents agreed beliefs and what their culture deems acceptable. If you want to understand why religions 'brainwash' people, practice cultural relativism. Look at how religion works for the culture which practices it. And how its dysfunctions effect people who may or may not be part of that same culture. All cultures enforce conformity to create stability, its whether or not conformity is destructive or harmful to specific members of society is how we should measure morality.

Welllllllll.. My mother bought a book for my sister before, because she was looking into christianity. The book was called Christianity Islam. I come from a muslim-christian parentage, so i know both religions although i'm raised a muslim(mind you i'm not). Besides Prophet Muhammad, and the difference in belief on what jesus was, the rest is pretty much the same. The stories of Moses, Adam and eve(but they have different names of course)..etc.. Christians and Muslims believe in the same god. I didn't read the book though(not interested), but i DO believe they concentrate more on the similarities of the 2 religions whether than the differences.

There are passages in the Bible that encourage believers to be evangelical. Some Christians interpret this literally and are constantly seeking to convert those around them. Some find this to mean that they aught to encourage everyone to behave like Jesus asked his followers to (love thy neighbor, etc). Remember that there are many Christians out there who see the Bible as guidelines and find their faith to be a personal issue. The noisy ones just attract more attention.

While my understanding of most subsets of the Islamic faith are limited, I've found that most Muslims are not interested in "brain washing" or imposing their culture on those around them. There are mosques around the country that are not interested in destroying Christianity. There are a few who feel that foreign cultures are sinful and must be abolished, to be replaced with strict Islamic theocracies, but they are (thankfully) in the minority.

I do not wanna be racist but I have some Muslim classmates & they are very rude. They act like Hinduism sucks & Allah is the best. I am not saying Allah is bad but they r really crazy 2 make fun of Hindus. They say that Hindus have so many gods & they make fun of how they look. Sometimes I feel like telling them 2 shut up. Christians r ok but I hate it when people think only their religion is the best & they feel like they have 2 show it off.

Cant say about the rest of the world, but in my ancestral village I have seen people turn into 'Christians' overnight for a mere thing like money! What is more disgusting is that these people are even Baptized! (without even knowing the actual meaning/sense of Christianity/Baptism). The people who get others converted are paid for individual & family conversions separately.
