Oh this is the easiest question I have answered today. It is quite simple since I deal with these types of people every day.
Yes it does hurt I grant you that. But I seek out the ones like myself. God gave us only one face, and that's the one I use, and those are the people I seek out. There are some in this world. It call respect and honor. It seem like this is on the decline, but I have faith.
Stay away from the two faced people, they are infectious and in the end might get you to be one of them. Be true to yourself and you will finds others like yourself.
Someone who will hurt you to be popular is not and never will be a true friend.
My grandmother used to say " Friends are like diamonds precious but FEW. " Over the years I have found that to be true.
I value my friends dearly, my acquaintances are not my friends.
I hope I have helped you. Good luck

Yeah. When you've gone years being kind and yet people are approaching you with "attitude," you figure out slander is going on behind your back. Be sure you have a pretty good idea of who is doing this. They are often very political and their activities are subterranean and difficult to detect.
Some ideas:
1. Directly to their face, ask them why they are spreading hurtlful rumors about you.
2. Say, "This statement sounds an awful lot like it came from you. Did it?"
While they squirm and make excuses, enjoy their discomfort and insist
on an answer. (Is it envy, one-up-manship, whatever?) Be brave and
don't back down. Once they realize you are "onto" them, they'll START backing down. But don't expect old habits to die easily. You'll have to retrain this person ad nauseum until they "get their **** together."
There's an old saying, "No one kicks a dead horse" These people are petty and if necessary, create some supportive friends.

Im sorry to tell you but you can't change someone like that, they are never going to stop being two faced until they realize that it hurts other people which could be a very long time but my best suggestion is to confront them about it and if they dont understand or get pissed off they aren't very good friends.

Yeah, I've had that problem for a very long time. Get new friends. I know its hard but they are not worth your time. Find people who will appreciate you...they are out there. Even if its just one person because that one good person is better than those 6.

Believe it or not, most people are like this. Everyone has a 2nd face that they use whenever it suits them. I do and you probably do too, even though you won't admit it. The best think you can do is not let it affect you so emotionally.

Confront them and tell them that they are two faced.
That is unless you are just hanging around with them so that
you can have some popularity.

You cannot change other people. You only have control over yourself. Do yourself a favor and make some new friends.
