It is not just preps and jocks. every faction has it's share of uninformed idiots. Just don't get so negative about it that it changes you for the worse because that would make you just like them.

The situation you're in and the behavior you're encountering is annoying and irrational, but the solution isn't an easy one. If there are specific people who are doing specific things, those individuals should be addressed individually, one-on-one, in a calm, rational conversation. Depending on the atmosphere of your school and the maturity (or immaturity) of the people you need to have these conversations with, this might not be possible.

But nothing can be accomplished by grouping people together in such a way and then writing off the entire group completely. This just creates a nasty cycle where it's cool for people in your own clique to badmouth the people in another clique, and they in turn do the same to you.

Some people tend to lash out at others as a way of building themselves up. Obviously these people are doing this to you, and that's stupid, mean, and childish of them. But responding in kind will not make the situation any better. Granted, it will draw the people in your own clique closer together, but at the expense of pushing those outside it further away.
