make some personalized stationery for her. you could even put a pic of you togeather in one corner. then she can use it to keep in touch with you. Sure snail mail is slower, but its kinda nice to get something from someone they took their time with. Being a girl, she would probably love writing letters.

Had the both of you take pictures before?
If you have then you can make something like an album. Put all the good memories inside. Like paste a photo, then write a small note describing the photo. Paste the photos that you have in different arrangements. Decorate the borders or any empty spaces. Make the album yourself. Because the one that you make is a special one, it's the one and only unique creation of yours. Give her the complete album and give her the warmest hug and perhaps a kiss on her cheek too. That would be the most unforgetable moment.
But if you don't have any photos, then make her something special. Anything that you want to give her. She'll definitely like the thing that you make.
Hope that it'll go smoothly for you. Remember her in your heart and mind always. As long as you have her in your heart, it doesn't really matter if she's not by your side. Because you know that you still have a special space for her in your heart.

give her the gift of words tell her how much u have valued their friendship over the years and u love her and your friendship with her will never be forgotten thank her for always being there for u and for all the good advice she has given u over the years tell her that friends like her only come around once in a life time and u were blessed to have had her in your life then maybe pick out a nice friendship ring for her or gather up all the good pictures u have of the two of u together and put them in a photobook for her

Do you know about the things she likes? Find out. But in the meantime make her a card on the computer. You can't go wrong with a good farewell card.

A scrapbook with pics, and memories, a frame with a favorite photo of the two of you, you could even give her a calling card so she can call you. If she likes to write letters you can buy her some stationary. If you have a video camera you could make a video and make a copy for the both of you.

This might sound like an old idea but a watch is the only thing I can suggest. Since watches has been given in many occasions when one leaves and it means to watch the time till we meet again.

A scarf. I say that because nowadays extra weight makes it difficult to carry lots of gifts and if you make it something small and light, it will surely make it into her suitcase. I hope she fairs well in her new home.
