I'm planning on transferring to a university. They require a 3.2 GPA and I'm still two points from it. If I send the application now I won't meet the minimum just yet until I get my grades for the end of this semester to boost it. The next time I can apply would not be until October and I graduate this spring when I'll be getting my associates degree. Since my GPA won't meet the limit will I have to wait until october to apply after I get my grades?

Second question, after completing a community college can you go back and take classes there so you'll have more credits to transfer?

Thank you, I tried contacting my advisor and they didn't help at all.

For your second question, you can go back and take classes for credit. Keep in mind that most universities will place a limit on the number of credits that will transfer, and make not accept all of them.

For your first question, try including a copy of your midterm grades (if you have them) or a letter explaining your situation.

Have you looked at expanding your horizons to another school? Also, check with the admissions office where you want to transfer to - sometimes they can accept things like midterm performance reports that indicate you would have those extra 2 tenths of a point (if you are two points away from a 3.2, you need serious work!) You could also see if they would let you transfer as non degree - take 2-3 courses to show you are serious and would be a regular admit by June.

Many schools would let you take additional classes elsewhere but you need them approved prior to taking them - for most the credits transfer in, but not the grades...good luck!

i had exactly this same problem transferring to purdue. i wanted to study political science, but was just short of the college of liberals arts gpa cutoff. so i decided being there was better than nothing and i applied to the school of agriculture and my major was agronomy, even though i didnt know what that was. it had a lower gpa requirement that i met and i got accepted. luckily i knew a girl there that helped me a lot. she told me about a CODO, change of degree objective. it might be called something different at another school. Basically, once I was accepted I could change my major to practically anything and since it was my first semester there, i wasn't loosing any credits. So I went to see my agronomy counselor who seemed very confused that I was leaving the school for liberal arts so quickly, but i just gave him a lame answer about there being too many science classes, etc. and that was that. I changed my schedule and was in liberal arts and majoring in politial science about a week after I got on campus, so i didnt miss much time.

I would suggest you do that because, from my experience, schools are VERY strict with their GPA cutoff, especially if you are talking about a good school. Had I applied to the school of liberal arts, they would have rejected me. I hope whatever decision you make works out for you. good luck

this is not impossible to circulate from a JuCo...it could be large annoying however. same simply by fact the different individual who suggested you will possibly might desire to be lots extra astonishing than the inexperienced persons that entered...lots extra astonishing. besides the undeniable fact that, you will possibly desire to artwork on your GPA first. A 2.7 isn't possibly that large. in line with danger in case you first went to a close-by college, raised your GPA and then went to stanford for Graduate college...wish this would not discourage you from taking photos for Stanford. this is potential, basically strengthen your GPA first.
