What? Man, Ford put a lot of different size mills in a lot of big and small cars. I have seen from the factory, huge engines in Mustangs, with no room to change spark plugs.

No,he is wrong, however,it could have a 351 Windsor but not a Cleveland. The last year 351 Cleveland was available was 1973 and 351 Clevelands were NEVER offered in a pickup or van, they were passenger car engines only.

6-300 (4.9L, VIN Y), AIR in head
6-300 (4.9L, VIN Y), AIR in manifold
8-302 (5.0L, VIN N)
8-445 (7.3L, diesel, VIN M)
8-460 (7.5L, VIN G)
8-351W (5.8L, VIN H)

Thats what was offered in '89. Your friend may have a stock Cleveland motor in his truck, but Ford didn't put it there. It could not have been a special order. Special orders use only available option packages and the Cleveland engine was not an option in '89.

No, it's a 351W. Ford stopped making the Cleveland in the 70's for the 351M/400 then dropped it in the mid 80's.

I believe its a 302/5L. Ford scraped the 351m and went with the 302cid.
