I have just got an mp3 player but when I down load my cds to the pc and then onto the mp3 it doesn't read them. I assume that's because I need them to be set as mp3 files. Any idea how I do that?

You can use any of the following programs and more:

Apple iTunes - http://www.apple.com/uk/itunes
Windows Media Player - http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/download/alldownloads.aspx

Put the CD in the drive, run either program and choose "Rip".

try Cdex it is a free program and it works pretty well.

When u put a CD into the drive it will automatically be recognized and after that go to the top of the window where it says CDDB and click remote CDDB and after that on the right side of the window there will be several buttons click on the second one, and then it will start to rip them to MP3 and it they will show up in your My Music folder as a folder that
says MP3.
Hope this helps.

Use windows media player to RIP the tracks from CD

Open it up in FULL MODE under VIEW tab and across the top you should see RIP - just select and choose you tracks from the CD and RIP them into mp3 under format section

Theres quite a few programs on the internet you can get for free for doing this type of thing.Just type "free music converters" into your search and you should come up with quite a few which you can try out before you decide which one to keep.

you need to use particular utility. the traditional unfastened constrained version utility featuring a clean computing device won't do it till to procure a very sturdy trial version. yet do no longer melancholy! seek for "open source utility convert to mp3" and sturdy probability you will locate some sturdy unfastened courses made by ability of gals and adult men who're no longer in it for the money! particular I mentioned unfastened.
