China has the highest population in the world with one fifth of the world's total population, as well as the longest continuously used written language. It's one of the world's oldest cultures, and is credited as being the place of origin for paper, printing, gunpowder, fireworks and spagetti amongst other things. The capital is Beijing, and there was a revolution from 1911 to 1912 which set up the People's Republic of China, placing Mao in power, who ruled until 1976. I won't go on, but there's a fair bit more in a country with a history dating before Christ.

I may be a bit unusual though, I studied the Chinese revolution in depth at uni.

They do not ask for any fee, the application fee is collect by them but only on behalf of the university, CUCAS also hold social activities for international students so they will not get bored, they always try to think as a foreigner and help international students to solve their problems. Very nice.
