Tomorrow my dad is going to but me a laptop but he said that i need to choose between Compaq or Sony vaio......Which one is more better..? Which one i should pick..?

That Was Then ... You may not like my answer, but here goes.
If portability is not ABSOLUTELY essential, I'd not get a laptop. Why?
Laptops have very limited expandability, cost much more to repair, and give you less computing power for your money. In other words, if your laptop cost $1,000, for that money you'd be able to get a desktop with a bigger hard drive(s), a faster CPU, more memory, better expandability, and perhaps a better DVD drive, too.
Oh, yes ... You may find some exceptions and some people will disagree. After all, which is more "sexy" ... a big desktop unit or a sleek laptop. Yes, a laptop will always win in the sexiness category.
But sexiness will be the last thing on your mind if you need to do some of the things I mentioned above: adding more hard drive space, more memory, or more USB ports, etc.
I told my cousin this advice; he ignored me, though. In fact, he bought the Vaio laptop and at first, he loved it so much, he actually took it to bed with him.
He doesn't feel the same way now because it needed to go back for repairs twice. He's also got some dead pixels, but not enough to get the display repaired, so now he's stuck.
I am NOT anti-laptop, but as I said, if you want to carry it around just because it seems cool, this is the wrong reason to get a laptop. Good luck.

Both companies make good laptops. But to determine which one is better you should be comparing the hardware they come with. How much memory, hard drive size video and audio card and burners etc. Either way I would buy Dell. Try get one with at least 1Gb or memory minimum.
