Oh yes, the worst case scenario and I are old friends. I'm not a half full glass guy. I'm not a half empty glass guy.

I'm a "the contents of this glass are probably carcinogenic and will kill me slowly and painfully" guy.

HELLO, STRANGER! HOPE YOU'RE DOING WELL! :-) I always take a problem and work backward, viewing it first from the worst case scenario, then reviewing all the less troublesome possibilities. Though many might think this is creating mountains out of silly little mole hills, I believe that by doing so, I can plan various solutions should the situation develop. I hate surprises when it comes to unwanted situations, so determined long ago that I would adopt this philosophy, and it has saved me tons of grief over my many years. I would much rather be prepared for something negative and learn that things are much better than I originally thought than vice versa! In that manner, there is a great sense of relief when things come out smelling like a rose. This question is a great example! Here I was, thinking the wonderful lady in Tennessee had fallen into the great "Tennessee Chasm of Education" and had suffered a miserable death at the hands of academia. As a result, I HAD ACTUALLY WORN BLACK AND BEEN IN MOURNING SINCE DECEMBER WHEN I LAST HEARD FROM HER! Disregarding the fact that I hardly ever get on here (again, because I had been in mourning), I had applied my "Worse Case Scenario Philosophy" and determined there was no longer a reason to check out Yahoo Answers, and had instead turned to spending my time listening to funeral dirges while drinking strong nectars that dulled the senses... However, now that I realize you're alive, I can celebrate! Perhaps I'll go out and dance naked, yet merrily, beneath the moon! Or something like that.... Sorry about this long answer, but I am so relieved you're still alive, I....think.....I'm.......going.....to cry.....but in a happy way.......

No I don't mull over the worst case scenario, however I am somewhat analytical and the thoughts of how bad something might be does cross my mind occasionally. I usually do just wind it up and let it go.

I mull first, that way I feel prepared. Probably my crappy upbringing, or that I was a boy scout. I can tell you being a muller really helps you if your a computer programmer.
