A+ is about 32%. See the link about who you can donate to or receive from. Less than about 5% of the population bother to donate blood although almost 100% might need a donation some day. Major surgery (from accidents?) can not be performed unless donated blood is at hand even if it is not actually used. The procedure takes very little time and hurts less than a large mosquito. Also men who donate blood reduce excess iron which improves their heart health. Been there done that (about 5 gallons).

pretty common. you can receive blood from A+. you can receive plasma from an AB+ (if you have the same type of A). there two common types of A, A1 and A2. most people are A1. you can receive red blood cells from a type O+. there are other blood groups that you might have depending on your racial/ethnic background but you would not know about them unless you need a transfusion

Its the most , or second most common (depending on whom you ask) O+ is the other first or second most common
