My husband and I are planning A family or at least starting to think about it. However, we have been debating baby names for almost 2 YEARS!!! We need help finding a name we can both agree on and love. I like more unique names. such as, annabelle, annastasia, anna-marie, Lilly-anna marie, Cornelia, cordelia, dominique and dominic, joel, sebastian. My husband prefers more simplistic names. such as, emily, david, jordan, jennie. Are there any names that are simplistic yet interesting at the same time?

All the names you list are interesting and unique. Why not use a name from your list and a name from your husands list. You could have an Emily Cordelia, Dominique Jennie, Jennie Annabelle, Annastasia Emily, David Joel, Dominic Jordan, Sebastian David or David Sebastian or any combination of unique and simplistic names you like.

My Husband and I are also trying to start a family. We have also talk about baby for a while. I also like unique names where as he prefers more common names. My name is Keisha (no offense to anyone but I am white) I love my name, it is a great conversation starter everywhere. My family has a few unique names such as Marcus, Tessa, Kaleah Amanda ( I love her name). But the name my husband and I have decided on if we have a girl we will name her - Ruby Marie. We are not sure what we are going to name the baby if we have a boy. I like the names Blake, Blaze( he hates this one) I wasn't sure at first but I seen a couple one day and their little boy's name was Blaze, and I guess I thought about it so much it grow on me. Dylan, Damon, Dalton. I not sure about boys. Hope this helped.

I don't think you should worry about naming a baby right now-your not even pregnant. My husband and I went through a million names before we actually had our children-and ended up choosing different names than we first agreed on. I think you should take naming a child very seriously. My daughter is in kindergarten and has two Jacobs and three Christophers in her class. They go by Jacob T., Jacob G., Christopher R., you get it. Unique names are perfect because your child will not likely have to be known by their last initial. I knew someone who's husband's name was Geoff and her name was Anna. They wanted a unique name for their daughter and ended up combining their names and naming her Gianna. I think that is adorable, plus now that Gianna is a little older, she realizes that she has mommy and daddy's name. Maybe you should think about something like that.

I'm in the same boat honey! I love unusual names and he prefers names that are very common. Rather then sit and throw names at you I'll tell you what we're doing. Get a baby name book, have him go through the entire book highlighting the names he likes, make sure it's a good book with roots, meanings and similar names. Then you go through and chose all the names you like (in a different color preferably). With how many names are in those books there are bound to be some you both like. Good luck!

Flower names for girls are interesting yet simple. Iris, Lilly, Rose, etc.

You could try some ethnic names for boys or girls that fit your family backgrounds....for instance, if the two of you are primarily English, look up some Celtic names (Welsh, Irish, or Scottish) and choose the name by both the sound and the meaning.

Oddly enough, two of our children have names that have the same meaning, but in different languages.

Baby names are hard to chose it is best to find out the sign you child will be born under and pick a name that that has the same traits as the sign. with our first child my bf and i didn't agree on a name until we saw our sons face. and we are still in disagreement with what our daughters name will be and she is due next month and remember if you can agree on a first names a child can always be called by there middle name.
but there is a book by Suzanne Smither called "Baby Names: an astrological guide" it has lots of simple unique name with there meaning and origin next to the names a lot of them i had honestly never herd of but they are all wonderful names

I am the mother of three children, who also wanted unique, yet "easy" names. We ended up naming our children's first names starting with the same letter, and then each of the middle names were after a grandparent.
Kyler I., Kobi J., And Keeley Marie(We often call her by both names. And both grandmothers had Marie as part of their names.Luckily!) At the time these were fairly unique names, but it seems as though after you have put the name into your life you meet more people by the same or similar names. We don't find them everywhere and plenty of people tell us they have never heard of them, but they do pop up here and there. We are constantly correcting the announciation of their names(Kobi-Colby,Kyler-Tyler,etc.),but that is o.k. My daughter's social security card even came back as Kelley instead of Keeley.
I always thought that I would never name my children with a name they would have to correct people on, after having a lifetime of dealing with my own name (Tamara) of which people pronounce several different ways. My name is pronounced with the "air" sound not "mra" sound. This is my "legal"name, after in agreement that I would be called Tammy. My dad wanted simple, mom wanted formal/sophisticated,a little more.
Growing up I prefered my "nickname",now that I am grown up I love my legal name.
All in all I love all of the names we have. Just remember to be open. Maybe combine a name off each of your lists.(Jennie-Marie or Jordanna)Or look into past family names that may be a little more unique today, but meaningful to you. Think of a more unique name that can have a simpler "nickname".
Some other names that were on my list or have heard that I also loved were:
Girls
Lucille Grace (Lucy)
Sadie Marie (little princess)
Elizabeth Marie (Elli or Liz)
Aidan
Elia
Aiyanna(beautiful)
Adaya(a gift from god)
Alexianna (Alex ,Alexi or Anna)
Mira(wonderful,peace)
Boys
Kalen James(Kale)
Nathaniel (Nate)
Aiden
Valentino(Val)
Marcus(marc)
Maximus(Max)
Good Luck! I have always thought this as one of the toughest tasks.
