It didn't work too well on me. Use a good lotion or some expensive stretchmark creme.......

any product that contains a goodly amount of cocoa butter in it will indeed help prevent your skin from being permanently scarred but you have to use it every single day and on all the areas subject to the stretching, the stomach, hips, thighs and breasts. I would not use anything else on the breasts except pure cocoa butter. A bonus is it can also be used anywhere on the body including the neck and face.
Palmer's cocoa butter is great, but you will go through a lot of it. You may want to try a pure cocoa butter stick. It is 100% pure cocoa butter with nothing added. 100% Cocoa Butter Stick by Queen Helene is an inexpensive option.
check the label for the amount of cocoa butter by seeing how far down in the list of ingredients it is. the higher up, the more cocoa butter.
=)
PS stretch marks happen when your skin has reached it's limit as far as it's ability to stretch. Maintain a STEADY rate of weight gain and take care of your skin and you WILL NOT get stretch marks or they will be so superficial that they are not very noticeable. Women who get stretch marks everywhere are the ones who thought they could eat whatever they wanted and gain all the weight they wanted without any consequences and who didn't take care of their skin. The deep marks you see on women are usually on the hips and lower belly and they prevent the skin from snapping back after you give birth and you end up with a saggy belly. You may not be able to prevent a few marks from showing up later on your breasts because of the stretching that occurs in such a short time period after the birth, but most can be prevented if you are treating your skin so that it stretches without tearing the top layers, which never heal over. That is what the stretch marks are.

Cocoa butter is used for both preventing stretch marks and treating them. If the weight gain is due to pregnancy, the cocoa butter should be rubbed daily on the affected area. Cocoa butter should be applied to the skin soon after a warm water bath, when the pores are open and the cocoa butter is easily absorbed. Shea butter may also be used instead of cocoa butter. I used Palmer's when i was pregnant and i used it from day one that i found out i was pregnant. I am not saying it does not work at all but it did not work for me, I have huge very obvious stretch marks. Although now after giving birth i have found this "Belly Butter" which I am currently trying now. I just got it as a sample somewhere and it does not have a web site but it does say distributed by "www.gro-group.com 1-866-768-4224" I have been using this for a few weeks now and it seems to be tightening my skin back up which is helping to minimize the stretch marks. Hope this helps

I have one one baby and another on the way. For my first pregnancy I did not use cocoa butter. I used Tummy Honey. It is from Duematerity.com. I have no stretch marks! Did it work? I have no idea. I just know that I grew at a steady pace and did not gain too much weight. Good luck!

No! I used it a few times a day throughout my whole pregnancy and I ended up with quite a bit of stretchmark all over. I also drank A LOT of water, which according to some people can help. My OBGYN told me that stretchmarks are just in the cards for some people. I had thought it was hereditary because I had read that somewhere, but my mom had me and my twin brothers and didn't get any. I was pretty sad that I got them after spending so much time rubbing the Cocoa Butter on(I even used the Palmer's Cocoa Butter for Stretchmarks specifically)... Good luck though!
Oh and if you do get some, idk if you tan or not, but tanning helps them to not be so noticable! Hope that helps and good luck with your pregnancy! Motherhood rocks!

There are countless physical changes to your skin, both pleasurable and painful attributed to your pregnancy only.
The common skin change that most pregnant woman experience is the stretch marks. Stretch marks are separations of the outer layers of skin caused by the overstretching of underlying layers.
Beside pregnant women, stretch marks are found on children who are obese, adolescents who have a sudden growth spurt during puberty and athletes and body builders who do constant exercises. The most commonly affected areas by stretch marks are hips, abdomen, breasts, thighs and buttocks. Stretch marks are itchy reddish marks.
In pregnancy, heredity plays an important role in determining who will have and will not have stretch marks. If your mother has had them, chances are that you will get them too, unless you were born with stretchy skin. There is no sure shot remedy for stretch marks as mostly they fade after delivery. The only way to avoid stretch marks is to prevent them. We recommend the following –
- Massage vitamin E or olive oil on the abdomen areas from the start of your pregnancy. Massage it liberally over the marks after a shower. Incase you skip a shower, clean the area with a wet cloth and then apply the oil.
- Regular exercise helps to tone your muscles and keep your skin firm.
- Maintain healthy diet and drink plenty of water. Plenty of proteins and vitamin C & E foods should be included in your diet. Increase your intake of minerals such as zinc and silica to maintain healthy skin.
- One ounce of sweet almond or jojoba oil with 7-8 drops of lavender and chamomile oils is a good homemade recipe.
- Avoid excessive weight gain in a short time span.
- Cocoa butter reduces stretch marks and helps to keep the skin supple.
- Wear a glove and massage your skin to increase circulation.
- While massaging your body with body oil, add coconut and almond oil. Daily massage with Olive oil, flaxseed oil, cod liver oil or vitamin E oil after shower or before sleeping is an excellent home remedy for either preventing or treating stretch marks.
- To avoid stretch marks around breasts, wear a supportive maternity bra.
- To make stretch mark cream, mix 1/2 cup cocoa butter, 1 tsp wheat germ oil, 1 tsp apricot kernel oil, vitamin E oil and 2 tsp grated beeswax. Heat the mixture until cocoa butter and beeswax melt, stir well and store in air tight conditioner.

NO! It helps only that it gives moisture to dry skin and maybe helps you from itching. But as far as preventing stretch marks........nothing but your genes and the amount of weight you gain will determine that. Congrats on baby

It will help keep your skin soft but it won't prevent stretch marks. Nothing will prevent stretch marks.

Stretch marks are 99% genetic. If you are genetically pre-disposed to get them, you can't stop them. The women who swear by it probably are not genetically pre-disposed to getting stretch marks.
