Like the Government doesn't price gouge people? Check the cost of a postage stamp lately? Exxon Mobile made 11% profit after taxes. If they dropped their price 10% and kept production the same you might save twenty cents a gallon (and in truth the savings on a gallon would be closer to 5 cents) on gas. With a 20 gallon tank that equates to 4 dollars a week or $208 dollars a year. The additional results would be, based on Exxon's 3rd qtr 10Q is that the US government would lose 12 Billion dollars in tax revenue. They would have to recoup this money somewhere so lets dip into the pocket of the tax payer for another $120 a year of their hard earned money. So your 5 cent savings at the pump saving you $52 dollars a year now winds up costing you $68 a year. You don't want to live in a communist state, you want to go home and rethink your life!

Ummm... This isn't Caracas, my friend. I'm fairly on top of the news, and Washington hasn't said diddly about that sort of thing. What's your source?
