if u think that our movies are based on our culture, then why cant we make it global.
what u think is a barrier for that?

the reson is that most of the movies contains baseless,meaningles stories.but if any movie is directed on true indian culture there are chances of winng oscars

Because the Oscar committee don't like songs in films but it can't happen in Indian Movies. Moreover the length of Indian films it is 2 to 3 hours, committee cant sit for such a long time(Joking) But definitely they like concepts(Kolkata RLD,Gandhi-8 Oscars, Slumdog-besides director, all are indians!)

Small minded people, movies may be too intellectual for most people
to understand. When I see Indian movies at the video store they're
usually in the arts section where few people dare go. Marketing for
such is not appealing to the masses. These are my thoughts.

because it's indian.
when your movies got adapted/copied by american , like a HongKong movie adapted by Martin Scorcese (The Departed), it will get an Oscar (the departed it is, not the hongkong movie).
The Lake House is an adaptation from a Korean movie.
The Lion King is an adaptation from a Japanese Movie, even the name of Simba/Kimba, they only change one capital.
A good Indian movie for me is Koch Koch Hota Hai.

I have always wondered why???.Our film makers have come up with very creative movies.I was expecting an Oscar for ''Fanaa''.
