Ahhh... a tricky question and I think there are 2 answers for this.
Yes... because nowadays there are plenty of young university graduates find jobs in overseas, away from their parents and siblings. With technology such as e-mail, VoIP, SMS, Messenger or Skype, keeping in touch has become easier and cheaper. So it does bring families together.
No... because with the same technology, some ppl do not see the need to meet face-to-face anymore. There are stories that teenager brothers and sisters calling each other from mobile phones, eventhough they were at the same house, or husband just leave an e-mail message to wife or kids b'cos he is so busy. Entertainment technology makes children cannot even bother to play with the the other member of family and resulted in a more distance relationship.
So as you can see... there are 2 sides of arguments here. Which one will you choose?

too many people view technology as just a computer. Yes, our vast technology brings people and families closer.

TV: many families sit down together on the couch & watch TV
Personals sites: starts families
Computers: "All gather round and see this funny youtube clip"
Airplanes, cars, trains: Brings relatives together from far away

Not, there are too many things for individual use. Instead of learning to
share everyone can get their own devices. Why sit and watch a movie
with your family when you can watch it on your own machine.
