my sister used to cut herself too. She did it she said for a number of reasons.
1. she felt numb inside and wanted to see if she could still feel pain
2. instead of expressing her feelings to others when she was sad she would just go and isolate herself and cut.
She tried to keep the cutting limited to areas that were covered like legs and arms.
She finally got help when we found her with her wrist slashed. she is taking medication and she has not cut herself for 2 years AND we are blessed to keep her here longer with us.
This opened the eyes of the family alot and we look at life a little different and with more compassion.

There's really nothing that you can do to make her stop. Self-mutilation is a horrible illness that takes over the lives of a lot of young people. My daughter suffers from it, the only thing that can be done is lots of therapy, you have to find out the underlying cause and work on that.
The best thing that you can do for a person that you know is doing it, if it's a minor, tell their parent or guardian. If it's an adult, tell someone close to them, and/or urge them to seek help. It can be stopped, but they can't do it alone. Give them plenty of support and love, and be there for them.
Personally, I hope you *are* lying, but if you're not, get help.

First of all: Talk to a professional about your concerns! There probably is a teacher willing to talk to you in private. Just talk to him/her about your sister.
Your sister will have more troubles if she looks like a freak who cuts in herself. Especially when she cuts herself in places that other people will see.
